Job summary

SpaceAge Synthetics is seeking a Warehouse Specialist on a day shift to support a growing manufacturing operation in Fargo, ND. The role is 40–46 hours per week, Monday–Thursday, with a 5:00 AM start time and hourly pay (rate DOE). The work involves packaging, loading, forklift use, and quality checks. Candidates should have a high school education and technical training or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Must understand Work Orders and packaging specs.
• Ability to inspect weight, dimensions and appearance for quality.
• Accurate data entry into databases and PMP adherence.

Responsibilities

• Interpret work orders to package and ship to specifications.
• Inspect product for weight, dimensions and type for quality.
• Ensure kitting and assembly meet customer specs.
• Load and unload SpaceAge product or raw materials.
• Operate forklifts and pallet jacks as needed.
• Complete work orders with accurate information.
• Maintain productivity to meet schedule and quality.
• Assist supervisors with PMP tasks and maintenance.
• Maintain equipment and housekeeping per PMP.
• Ensure material flow in supervisor's absence.
• Record measurements and activity in database.
• Complete safety training and participate in committees.
• Inform supervisor of safety concerns.
• Help track inventory of supplies and shipping materials.

Description

We are looking for a Warehouse Specialist on Day Shift to support our growing company. This position will average 40 – 46 hours per week, Monday – Thursday. The Warehouse Specialist position’s shift starts at 5:00 AM and is paid hourly, rate DOE. Fully funded individual health insurance, 401k with match, 7 paid holidays, and immediate PTO accrual/use. SpaceAge Synthetics is a manufacturer of fiberglass reinforced polyurethane boards. Our products are shipped around the world and used in many industries where moisture would be an issue for traditional plywood, such as marine, bus, and flooring. Our most visible product is our Ice Cap® ice arena flooring. This product is used in over 300 hockey arenas around the world, allowing those arenas to host concerts, tradeshows, etc., without removing the ice.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Interpret Work Order Origination Form to complete packaging and shipment to customers' specifications
• Inspect product for weight, thickness, dimensions, product type, and physical appearance in order to ensure product meets SAS quality standards and customer requirements.
• Insure all kitting and product assembly processes are completed to customer specifications.
• Loading and unloading of SpaceAge product or raw materials.
• Operator of forklifts and pallet jacks, as needed.
• Complete work orders completely and ensure all information entered is accurate.
• Maintain productivity at a level that achieves schedule completion and maintains quality.
• Assist Maintenance Supervisor and Production Supervisor in completing the PMP.
• Maintain equipment in proper operating condition in regards to PMP, housekeeping, and greasing.
• Assure proper flow of materials through the Department in the absence of the Production Supervisor.
• Some PC work required, must be able to enter measurements and activity into database
• Complete all safety training programs and score within SAS standard requirements.
• Participate in Committees as requested. Safety Committee, Quality Circles, EAC etc.
• Alert Production Supervisor of any Safety Concerns.
• Assist Production Supervisor in keeping track of inventory of supplies, small tools, shipping supplies, pallets, etc.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs other work related duties as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None, but may lead or direct the work of others.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school education and technical training or equivalent experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT

The position has typical manufacturing shop working conditions, to include the presence of large machinery, elevated noise levels, and continuous manufacturing process activity. The job requires sustained mental effort related to technical areas and physical activity.

There is sustained exposure to standing and could be occasional moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds), or heavy lifting (75+ pounds), and other environmental conditions normally present in a modern manufacturing plant.
