Job summary

AIT Worldwide Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Specialist in Chicago, IL. You will process shipments safely and efficiently, sort, pack, load, and unload freight, and manage shortages and damages with proper reporting.

You will also handle dangerous goods shipments in accordance with regulations, contribute to a safe work environment, and use computer systems to track and manage inventory and shipments. The role requires strong English skills and prior warehouse experience.

Qualifications

• Fluent spoken and written English is required.
• Previous warehouse experience is required.
• Knowledge of air freight regulations is desirable.
• Reach/Counterbalance forklift operation is essential.
• Basic PC skills (Windows, MS Office) are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks.
• Pull and stage outbound goods using loading manifest.
• Check in/load out domestic and international freight.
• Put freight away in designated areas.
• Operate a sit-down forklift safely (electric or propane).
• Re-weigh freight and cargo as directed; basic math skills required.
• Maintain a clean work environment and follow safety policies.
• Able to use a computer and the main software packages competently.
• Execute all Dangerous Goods shipments in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Report unsafe/unsecure/unhealthy conditions and suggest improvements.

Overview

As Warehouse Specialist you will be responsible for processing shipments in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring operational excellence, high efficiency, and customer satisfaction. You will be sorting, packing, loading, and unloading freight and managing shortages/damages with a CDR report prepared.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks
• Pull and stage outbound goods using loading manifest
• Check in/load out domestic and international freight
• Put freight away in designated areas
• Drive sits down forklift (electrical or propane) in a safe and efficient manner
• Re-weigh freight / cargo as directed; basic math skills required
• Maintain a clean work environment and follow safety policies
• Able to use a computer and the main software packages competently
• All other duties and responsibilities will be assigned as the business demands deem necessary
• Execute all Dangerous Goods shipments in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations (as applicable)
• Contribute actively to a healthy and secure work environment by reporting unsafe/unsecure/unhealthy conditions and possible improvements.
