Job description

Position Summary

Warehouse Specialist. Must have the training, skills, and knowledge to receive, perform warehousing/storage functions (such as identification, segregation, density compliance, etc.), issue, and prepare materials for shipping. As directed, performs a variety of warehousing duties which requires an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. Verifies materials against documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages; routing/performing alternate location assignments of materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, consolidating, and/or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods and local planography. Rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material from storage, and preparing it for shipment. Uses DSS or equivalent WMS and other Government Data Systems to perform the requirements in the PWS.

Essential Functions Of The Position
  • Examines stored materials and reports deterioration and damage
  • Removes material from storage and prepares/stages it for conveyance, and delivers it to the proper destination.
  • Picks and pulls material as ordered by the requestor to the applicable destination.
  • Create and print manifests via DSS or manually through other programs.
  • Verify material in accordance with applicable SOPs and process manuals.
  • Performs Floor to Book counts (F2B) and location maintenance of all storage locations.
  • Performs housekeeping functions IAW applicable SOPs and the direction of the management team.
  • Support and participate in the company’s Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) and Quality Assurance Program (QAP) to ensure superior customer service to all customers.
  • Follow strict procedures to include but not limited to all company policies, procedures, and/or established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process manuals.
  • Work overtime as needed to meet the contractual obligations in support of established Acceptable Performance Levels (APL).
  • Operate material handling equipment (MHE) including but not limited to pallet jacks, motorized forklifts, elevated work platforms, and tug.
  • Performs detailed warehouse operations to maximize proper storage requirements including reaching and maintaining density requirements as established by the contract.
  • Follows all federal OSHA guidelines and base/company safety and occupational health plans.
  • Follow all local/base policies and/or regulations.
  • All other duties as assigned by Site Manager, Warehouse Supervisor, and/or Lead.
  • As directed, performs a variety of warehousing duties which requires an understanding of the establishment's storage plan including but not limited to Type Storage Code (TSC). Verifies materials against documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages; routing/performing alternate location assignments of materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, consolidating and/or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods and local planography. Examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage; removing material from storage and preparing it for conveyance. Picking and pulling material as ordered by the requestor to the applicable destination. May be required to print manifests (via DSS), verifying material in accordance with proper manifest. Verify material (in accordance with established SOP) manifesting material by PCN, preparing material, labeling outbound material with proper delivery destination, staging material to be load on next available MHE to be sent to applicable destination. Pulls, Stows, performs internal Floor to Book counts (F2B) and performs a variety of location maintenance and housekeeping functions on all material/locations inside and outside the warehouse. Support and participate in the company Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) and Quality Assurance Program (QAP) to insure superior customer service to all depots and customers. Follow strict procedures including but not limited to all company policies, procedures, and/or established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Employees will be required to work overtime as needed to meet the contractual obligations in support of established APLs. Operate material handling equipment (MHE) such as pallet jacks, motorized forklifts, elevated work platforms, and tug. Follows all federal OSHA guidelines and base/company safety and occupational health plans. Able to follow all local/base policies and/or regulations. All other duties as assigned by Site Manager, Warehouse Supervisor, and/or Lead.
Supervisory Responsibilities

No direct supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands
  • Required to walk, stand, sit, and move about the property for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
Work Environment
  • Indoor/Outdoor; exposure to external environmental conditions possible.
  • Noise level can range from minimal to intense.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be able to pass a National Criminal Background Check and obtain a Common Access Card.
  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English.
  • Must have warehousing experience.
  • Must have forklift experience.
  • Must have the ability to multitask and demonstrate diligence.
  • Must be dependable, responsible, and fulfill obligations.
  • Must have a valid California Driver’s License.
Security Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to pass a National Background Check
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Base access and the Common Access Card (CAC)
