Meyer Distributing is hiring a Box Driver/Warehouse Operator to join our team. The role involves driving 26–28 ft box trucks, loading/unloading, order fulfillment, and warehouse stocking with forklift/manlift operation.

The position offers a stable 5-day work week (approximately 40 hours) with compensation up to $20.00/hour based on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package. Training to obtain forklift and manlift certification will occur within 3 months.

Qualifications

• One year of experience operating 26–28 ft box trucks or similar CMV over 10,001 lbs.
• Preference for manual/stick shift driving.
• Valid IN truck driver's license with 2 For Hire endorsement (reimbursement available).
• Willingness to pass drug screening and background checks; maintain DOT Medical Exam Certificate.
• Clean driving record; insurable under standard rates.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds; repetitive bending and lifting.
• Must obtain forklift and manlift certification within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Drive manual box trucks between company locations.
• Unload, restock, and distribute products in warehouse.
• Use scanners to pick and place items in bins; stock racks.
• Fill orders from warehouse stock and distribute to shipping or route pickup areas.
• Operate forklift and manlift equipment.

Schedule:

• Stable schedule: 5-day work week ~40 hours
• Up to $20.00 based on experience
• Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 6:30pm (start/end times vary based on workload, coverage and business needs)
• Saturday, 8:00am - 1:00pm, rotational (start/end times vary based on workload, coverage and business needs)

Requirements for Box Drivers:

• Preference of minimum one (1) year of experience operating 26–28 ft. box trucks or any other commercial motor vehicle over 10,001 lbs.
• Preference of manual/stick shift driving
• Possession of a valid truck IN driver’s license and 2 For Hire endorsement (Company willing to reimburse license endorsement cost if obtained for Meyer - receipt required)
• Willingness to submit to drug screening and background checks, and maintain a valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate
• Clean driving record with no recent moving violations; must remain insurable under standard insurance market rates
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Ability to perform repetitive bending and lifting
• Previous warehouse experience and must obtain forklift and manlift certification within 3 months of hire

Box Driver duties include but are not limited to:

• Drive manual box trucks from company building to company building as needed throughout the day
• Unload truck and distributes products to appropriate area of warehouse for restocking
• Uses scanners to place parts in proper bins and pulls orders
• Stocks parts on racks in proper location
• Fills orders from warehouse stock and distributes items to shipping or to designated route driver/customer pick-up staging area
• Operate a forklift and manlift equipment
• Places product on pallets and wraps it in film and band it using banding equipment
• Assists in counting and reconciliation of physical inventory
• Keeps warehouse and work area clean and organized at all times
• Wear protective toed shoes and work in a safe manner at all times
• Moves products manually and with the assistance of a forklift and manlift
• Loads trucks and secures product
• Transfer Product
• Drive a Box Truck
• All other duties as assigned
