Warehouse/Shipping/Receiving Clerk

The Warehouse/Shipping/Receiving Clerk verifies and maintains records of incoming and outgoing merchandise and prepares items for shipment. Responsibilities include warehouse activities such as cylinder filling, loading/unloading trucks, shipping/receiving, and processing picking tickets.

Physical Demands

The physical requirements for this role include:

  • Standing (e.g., labeling), walking (e.g., stocking shelves), using hands for handling or feeling (e.g., checking merchandise, coding invoices), and talking or hearing (e.g., communicating with customers, vendors, and colleagues).
  • Frequent reaching with hands and arms (e.g., stocking shelves, unpacking merchandise).
  • Occasional sitting (e.g., computer work), climbing or balancing (e.g., unloading trucks), and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling (e.g., packing or inspecting merchandise).
  • Lifting and moving up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 100 pounds occasionally (e.g., cylinders, larger equipment).
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment

The work environment may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions. The noise level is typically moderate.
