Description

Job Summary: Reporting to the Shipping Supervisor, this position is responsible for all activities relating to distribution operations executing all picking, packing of construction supply material and dispatching of delivery trucks for delivery of construction supply material.

Job Duties:

1. Ensure orders and inter-branch transfers are picked, checked and packed and loaded per company guidelines and procedures.
2. Ensure accuracy/integrity of orders (correct material/quantity and acceptable quality/delivery).
3. Work with Inbound/Inventory Manager to control inventory and work with staff to minimize material ‘can’t finds’ and errors.
4. Ensure all parcel package shipments are processed for customer delivery.
5. Provide motivating work environment for staff with high levels of performance and standards being the norm.
6. Communicate policies to ensure compliance and consistently administer corrective action as necessary.
7. Foster communication and teamwork among staff to ensure accomplishment of operational goals.
8. Accept responsibility for company projects that may be indirectly related to his/her area of responsibility.
9. Work with distribution center team members in order to ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse and processing areas.
10. Ensure that safe work practices are followed, maintaining an overall safe work environment.

• Monday – Friday (occasional Saturday)

Requirements:

1. Must have a track record of being a results-oriented person who has worked in industrial warehousing/distribution operations for 2+ years.
2. Must be effective communicator up, down and across the organization.
3. High school diploma (or equivalent); college degree preferred.
4. Ability to use NEFCO’s ERP software system.
5. Ability to use warehouse layouts for planning purposes.
6. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, or Outlook a plus.
7. Basic computer skills.
8. Must have a positive, hard-working attitude.
9. Ability to establish priorities, work independently and with little supervision.
10. Ability to multitask.
11. Excellent communication skills.
12. Ability to stand on concrete floor for long periods of time.
13. Must be able to work in various climate conditions such as cold, heat, humidity for a long period of time.
14. Ability to crouch, stoop, kneel, crawl and twist for lifting.
15. Ability to safely lift up to 75 lbs.
16. Ability to review and interpret computer images and written documents.
17. Analytical ability including basic math skills.
18. Ability to operate warehouse equipment (including forklifts) and be recertified.
19. Must be detail-oriented and hands-on ‘roll up the sleeves’ type with aptitude for multi-tasking and adapting to a fast-paced environment with ever-changing priorities.
20. Must have effective interpersonal skills with the ability to direct, coach, support and delegate to associates.
