Job summary

Roadtex Transportation, a nationwide leader in Temperature Controlled Shipping and Warehouse Services, seeks an Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day special services operations and lead frontline leaders in executing packing instructions, SOPs, and quality controls.

You will drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement across shifts and ensure staffing and equipment readiness for efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of warehouse services experience.
• 3+ years leading a team.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Attention to detail and ability to analyze data.

• Build and promote a strong Safety and Quality culture. Maintain a safe working environment and conduct production activities in a manner that protects safety, environment and quality.
• Participate in the creation, approval and execution of the production plan for the assigned area.
• Ensure consistency of operations across shifts through active engagement on the production floor.
• Support and provide leadership to the area through site inspections.
• Own the implementation of the change and improvement process for the operation.

Position Overview

The Operations Manager is directly responsible for managing the day to day special services operations and provides oversight into the operational resources assigned to the VAS team, including the Operations Leaders. The role is responsible for the leadership of frontline leaders in direct execution of coc packing instructions (e.g., batch production record, SOPs, etc.) in order to safely and compliantly complete work required. The role serves as the key integrator of the cross functional team to drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement in pursuit of Operational Excellence. The Operations Manager provides leadership, acts as a key integrator, has accountability, for all roles of the department, and ensures that appropriate staffing is in place. The role will ensure equipment is maintained in a state of compliance and processes in a validated state for their respective area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Build and promote a strong Safety and Quality culture. Maintain a safe working environment and conduct production activities in a manner that protects safety, environment and quality.
• Participate in the creation, approval and execution of the production plan for the assigned area.
• Ensure consistency of operations across shifts through active engagement on the production floor.
• Support and provide leadership to the area through site inspections.
• Own the implementation of the change and improvement process for the operation.
• Set objectives for the Teams and owning and reviewing their production goals.
• Set objectives and development plans for Operations staff, including Operations Leaders and Operators.
• Manage events as required, ensuring appropriate communication within the team and with external teams. Provide input and corrective action for any quality incidents.
• Build and develop a team, creating clear common purpose and promoting good team spirit.
• Ensure that team members are appropriately trained, and that operating procedures and training material is available and current.
• Communicate appropriately with team members regarding site objectives and team business.
• Ensure the team is adequately resourced to meet the business objectives including sourcing all materials needed, coordinating any repairs of any equipment needed, and maintaining PMI schedules for all equipment on site.
• Ensure the department operates within the budget and continual lean objectives are being assessed.

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience 5 plus years of warehouse services 3+ years leading a team Proven track recording leading a team Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and attention to detail Proven track recording in developing and implementing workflow process’ to successfully meet the needs of the business Ability to analyze data to identify areas of opportunity
