Job summary

GEODIS is seeking a technically skilled maintenance professional responsible for ongoing service and preventive maintenance of conveyor systems and related equipment at our Las Vegas facility. The role requires strong problem solving, PLC troubleshooting, and teamwork to ensure smooth distribution operations.

Ideal candidates will hold an associate degree in a technical field or equivalent experience, with at least 5 years in 3PL warehousing or distribution environments, and proficiency in

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent technical experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years related experience or training.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
  • Strong knowledge of safety circuits, relays, interlocks and E-stop circuits.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to build relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Perform service and preventive maintenance on conveyor systems and related equipment.
  • Test and troubleshoot equipment including conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, and facility systems.
  • Repair or replace control devices such as switches, sensors and relays as needed.
  • Set up and operate welders, drill press, grinders and other metalworking tools.
  • Troubleshoot PLCs (Omron, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Keyence, Siemens) and match addressing with schematics.
  • Evaluate defects and report unusual conditions.
  • Support a 24/7 environment with on-call after hours and weekends.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you will be doing:

  • Perform service and regular preventative maintenance work on conveyor systems including fabricate, install and repair conveyor systems as planned while keeping appropriate maintenance records.
  • Test and trouble shoot problems with equipment, conveyors, v-belt transfers, Bombay unit sortation system, carton erectors, banding machines, MCC cabinets, stretch wrappers, vision systems, scanners, printers, facility systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, elevators), forklifts, and anything else associated with the operation of a distribution facility.
  • Repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, etc. as needed
  • Set up and operate welders, drill press, grinder, hand tools and other metal working equipment as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot micro controllers like Omron, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Keyence, and Siemens PLCs with the ability to identify correct I/O points as well as match the addressing with machine schematic
  • Evaluate, detect and report equipment, defective material, improper operations and unusual conditions.
  • This position supports a 24/7 environment and requires on-call coverage after normal business hours and on weekends.

Requirements:

  • Associate’s Degree in technical field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent analytical / problem solving skills required.
  • 3PL warehousing, distribution center or fulfillment experience preferred
  • Varied industrial or distribution background is a plus. Key industries include food and beverage, retail and apparel, FMCG, healthcare, and automotive
  • PC literate with proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Access, Excel, and AutoCAD
  • Have a good working knowledge of safety circuits, relays, interlocks and E-stop circuits
  • Able to lead a team effectively and build strong relationships with employees, customers and other department managers.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills that demonstrate a proven ability to develop relationships with a range of internal and external customers
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced, metric-driven environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities
