Warehouse Senior Industrial Engineer - Ryder Last Mile (remote)

Job Overview

This position supports Ryder's Continuous Improvement culture by applying continuous improvement methods to enhance operations. The Engineer will identify and implement changes through data-driven CI, Engineering, and Automation efforts to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost. The role involves leveraging data analytics, engineering methodologies, and lean tools to identify root causes and eliminate issues. The Engineer will collaborate with employees at all levels and report to the Lead Engineer, CI Manager, or Sr. CI Manager, working closely with Operations Management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Collect and analyze data; map and document processes; identify and implement process improvements; develop and execute continuous improvement plans to enhance safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee development.
2. Manage CI and engineering projects to improve business results; support certifications and automation projects; interact with management and customers.
3. Develop skills in engineering methods, Lean tools, and quality standards; coach employees on CI, QA, and Lean principles; apply methodologies like product slotting, labor standards, layouts, data analysis, and resource modeling.
4. Facilitate Value Stream Maps and Kaizen Events; coach teams on lean methods to achieve operational excellence.
5. Report progress and make strategic recommendations based on data analysis.

Additional Responsibilities

• Design and monitor Quality Management System (QMS); implement corrective actions; support compliance and certification efforts; perform QA functions for startups or expansions; perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to build professional relationships at all organizational levels.
• Self-driven, flexible, highly organized, and capable of multitasking.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerBI/Tableau, SQL, and Visio; experience with engineering and data analysis tools.
• Knowledge of warehouse design, automation, and Lean methods.
• Relevant degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) with experience in warehousing, transportation, or manufacturing.

Compensation

Salary range: $90,000 - $100,000 annually. Benefits include health coverage, paid time off, and 401(k).
