Job summary

Publix Super Markets is seeking a warehouse selector in our Distribution department. You will determine how much you earn by performing duties that keep our products moving from warehouse to store shelves, requiring physical stamina and precise handling of orders.

Responsibilities include selecting, lifting, and packaging products, using warehouse tech to locate items, and ensuring safety while meeting tight delivery timelines.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Willing to work a rotating schedule including weekends/holidays.
• Able to perform physical tasks: lift, carry, stand, bend for long periods.
• Read, write and verify numbers accurately.
• Must obtain pallet truck and forklift certification by start date.
• Commitment to safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Select, lift, carry, and stack product weighing up to 67 pounds.
• Prepare orders by pulling products and placing on pallets.
• Wrap orders and load onto trucks for delivery.
• Use warehouse technology to locate ordered products.
• Maintain safety and efficiency while stocking shelves across Publix network of stores.
• Be a team player; responsibilities may evolve with operation needs.

Duties/Responsibilities

YOU determine how much you earn as a warehouse selector. The more orders you complete safely and efficiently, the more money you earn each week! The average Publix selector performs at a rate greater than 100% which means that you, too, can earn above standard pay. Are you the competitive type? It pays to be the best because selectors are rewarded for working efficiently and with accurate results.What if your work was also your workout? Selectors are constantly walking, lifting, bending, and stretching. If you’re into sports, cardio, strength training, weightlifting, running or bodybuilding, this job will help keep you in shape. Selectors pull products ordered by Publix stores, place them onto pallets, wrap the finished order, and get it ready to be placed on a truck for delivery. To increase their efficiency, selectors use state-of-the-art technology to notify them of the products that have been ordered and where they are in the warehouse. Our warehouse selectors are team players and instrumental in helping keep our shelves stocked in our more than 1,400 store locations.The responsibilities listed on this posting are not intended to be all-inclusive and additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

What We’re Looking For

• Be at least 18 years old
• Work a rotating schedule which includes some weekends and holidays
• Work fluctuating shifts, when needed
• Select, lift, carry, and stack product weighing
  • 67 pounds for high velocity and low velocity
• Stand, bend, stoop, twist, and do repetitive work for long periods of time
• Operate a pallet truck or forklift without any part of the body exposed outside of the operator compartment
• Obtain certification in pallet truck and forklift operations (on or before their start date in the position)
• Perform job duties efficiently, accurately, and safely
• Read, write, and identify and verify numbers
• Interpret, understand, and follow instructions and
• Pass a Physical Agility Test (before the start date in the position), as applicable

Year End Bonus

To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.
