Job summary

Performance Foodservice in Augusta, ME, seeks a sanitation associate to maintain a clean, safe warehouse environment and support health and safety policies. The role covers janitorial tasks across dry, cooler, and freezer areas and may extend to office spaces.

The position requires a High School Diploma/GED and at least 6 months of sanitation/cleaning experience, with Sunday-Thursday shifts starting at 7:00 AM. Competitive hourly pay and benefits accompany this essential role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
• 6+ months general sanitation, cleaning and/or janitorial work experience.
• Sunday through Thursday
• 7:00AM Start Time.

Responsibilities

• Completes all work according to company health and safety policies and guidelines.
• Reports all unsafe conditions or unsafe acts immediately to ensure safety of all associates.
• Performs cleaning duties as assigned including but not limited to dusting, sweeping, mopping, trash pickup and related janitorial tasks.
• Handles all cleaning chemicals as directed in hazmat material sheets.
• Timely and accurate completion of all assigned Pure Safety training modules.
• May require operation of pallet jack to transport refuse/trash to appropriate receptacles.
• Completes all assignments and timely and accurately.
• May be required to work with cleaning chemicals.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Break / repack full cases into smaller units to reduce spoilage and lost inventory.
• Will be responsible for recycling plastic and cardboard as needed.
