Job summary

Sysco in Tampa, FL is seeking a Custodian to maintain cleanliness and sanitation across our warehouse facility. Under supervision, you will perform custodial tasks and support safety and productivity goals.

You will operate cleaning equipment, manage waste disposal, and keep aisles, restrooms, and work areas orderly while following company safety rules. Responsibilities include dusting, mopping, trash disposal, floor care, and supporting recycling and stretch-wrap activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred or equivalent
• 1 year warehouse-related experience or training
• Must be 18 years of age and able to work independently with attention to detail
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, memos and notes

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial duties throughout the facility: dusting, sweeping, mopping, cleaning restrooms and floors
• Maintain sanitary conditions; dispose of trash and debris daily; clean spills
• Clean coolers, dry warehouse, aisles, and equipment mezzanine; scrub floors in docks and aisles
• Operate and maintain cleanliness of equipment and floors; support recycling and stretch wrap processes
• Assist in maintaining parking lots and front sidewalks; report unsafe issues to supervisor
• Ensure safety rules are followed to reduce accidents; use forklifts and pallet jacks safely
