Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Sanitation Coordinator to oversee sanitation and general maintenance in our warehouse facility. The role emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and adherence to food safety and security guidelines.

You will coordinate cleaning tasks, manage supplies, and report to the AVP of Warehouse Operations and Director of Compliance/Safety. No formal education required; on-site work with physical requirements.

Qualifications

• Must promote a safe work environment using PPE.
• Able to interpret instructions and solve practical problems with limited guidance.
• Capable of identifying problems and implementing solutions.
• Basic arithmetic and ability to perform simple calculations.

Responsibilities

• Reports to work on time and follows company policies.
• Performs general maintenance including plumbing, mechanical, and electrical.
• Coordinates disposal of trash, recycling, and damaged product to reduce carbon footprint.
• Ensures cleanliness and appearance of facilities (sweeping, mopping, power washing, sanitizing).
• Handles janitorial duties in offices, restrooms, breakrooms.
• Follows safety and security guidelines when monitoring non-employee drivers/visitors.
• Orders sanitation and maintenance supplies as needed.
• Adheres to food safety and general safety guidelines.
