The Safety Specialist will help plan, implement, and coordinate health and safety programs in our warehouse. They will be responsible for helping reduce accidents and injuries, coordinate day-to-day activities related to safety, and set internal policies and procedures. This position works closely with our operations team. The ideal candidate has knowledge of safety, OSHA, and other industry related regulatory authorities.

Job Functions

• Revise, create and implement safety plans
• Conduct hazard assessments, job safety analysis and fire prevention
• Train new and current employees on PITs
• Conduct all required safety training annually and at orientation
• Injury investigations for root cause and prevention
• Safety refreshers after injuries or incidents
• Coordinate and conduct monthly safety meetings
• Partner with the operations team to interpret and meet safety regulations
  
  

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• OSHA 10 certification preferred
• First Aid/CPR certified or previously certified preferred
• Ability to lead others
• Able to maintain composure while working in high stress situations
• Ability to work different shifts when needed
• Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Able to work well with a variety of different personalities
  
  

Work Experience

• Minimum of 3 years warehouse experience preferred
• Previous safety experience required
• Proficient in MS Office programs, including Exce
