Job description

The Warehouse Receiving Associate will primarily handle the receipt of products across all Gleaners facilities, including dry, cooler, and freezer items. Responsibilities include loading and unloading shipments, organizing inventory, ensuring smooth receipt processes, and conducting inventory counts. The associate will collaborate daily with team members to uphold warehouse standards aligned with AIB and janitorial requirements. All duties support Gleaners’ mission to combat hunger.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate powered and manual warehouse equipment following Gleaners and OSHA safety guidelines.
• Accurately record received products, complete paperwork, and store items securely.
• Perform warehouse functions such as receipt, loading/unloading, pallet wrapping, and labeling.
• Prepare products for distribution and fulfill orders by case and pallet.
• Follow directions from multiple sources and adapt to daily warehouse needs.
• Maintain safety and compliance with all food safety regulations (GFB, Feeding America, AIB, USDA, ISDH).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in warehouse operations and customer service preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and understand instructions.
• Strong communication skills and professionalism.
• Basic math skills and accurate record-keeping.
• Knowledge of warehouse inventory and product quality assessment.
• Accountability and punctuality.
• Positive attitude and attention to detail.
• Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) certification preferred or ability to obtain.
