Job summary

UNFI is seeking a Warehouse Receiver in Gilroy, CA to manage product intake, verify quantities, and place items into inventory. The role requires understanding receiving procedures, maintaining safe operations, and moving goods from trucks to staging locations. Starting hourly rate is $22.25 with a $1.25 overnight incentive.

Schedule is overnight, Sunday night to Thursday night; Fridays and Saturdays off. Regular duties include pallet building, labeling accuracy, and safe, efficient equipment

Qualifications

• Understanding of Safety guidelines.
• Strong knowledge of Bakco functions and RF systems.
• Warehouse/Operations preferred but not required.
• Understand and follow all receiving procedures including PO readers, Bills of Lading, and packing lists.
• Understand procedures in other warehouse areas for a global view.

Responsibilities

• Check with supervisors at shift start about issues or changes.
• Verify quantities received against packing slip/PO.
• Report damage due to refrigeration, travel, or handling by inbound freight.
• Build steady pallets for back stock and wrap pallets as needed.
• Ensure correct labeling for put-away in proper pick slot or back stock location.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and proper PPE.
• Inspect jack for safety; operate all equipment safely.
• Report policy violations to supervisor.
• Follow HACCP and SQF policies where applicable.

Job Overview

Responsible for having a strong understanding of the entire warehouse and receiving procedures. Also needs to understand the products, receiving procedures, and back stock put away procedures. A receiver is responsible for moving product off trucks, monitoring the quality of product, entering it into inventory, and properly putting product in its respected staging location.

Starting Hourly Rate: $22.25/HR. + $1.25 for Overnight Incentive

Schedule: 10PM- 6:30AM Sunday night to Thursday night until the work is done. Friday's and Saturday's Off.

Job Responsibilities

• Checks with supervisors or leads at the beginning of the shift to discuss any issues or changes in the daily procedure.
• Verifies quantities of product received against the packing slip/purchase order.
• Checks and reports any damage found due to refrigeration, travel, or handling by inbound freight company.
• Builds steady and secure pallets to be put into back stock reserves.
• Wraps pallets whenever necessary.
• Ensures that all labeling of product and pallets are accurate for put-away in proper pick slot or back stock location.
• Keeps area clean and debris out of work area; ensures a safe working environment.
• Inspects assigned jack for safety issues. Operates all equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Wears personal protective equipment as required.
• Reports to supervisor or lead any violation of company policy.
• Perform duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location.

Performance Measurements

• Receiver functions are completed in accordance with Company standards and procedures including quality standards and safety regulations.
• Effective communication and coordination exist with Company personnel and with management.
• Assistance and support are provided as needed. Deadlines are met.

Qualifications

• Understanding of Safety guidelines.
• Strong knowledge of applicable Bakco functions and RF systems.
• Warehouse/Operations preferred but not required.
• Understand and properly follow all receiving procedures, including how to us Bakco and RF systems.
• Understand all paperwork related to receiving including how to read and use Purchase Order (PO) receivers, Bills of lading, and packing lists.
• Understand procedures in other areas of the warehouse for a more global understanding of all processes.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Good Judgement is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

Compensation

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements.
