Job Description – Active Production Class B Operator

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Support the Production Shift Supervisor in compliance with Porocel policies, organizational goals, and applicable regulations.
2. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
3. Be cross-trained on active plant equipment and procedures, demonstrating proficiency.
4. Perform clean outs and product switch overs.
5. Assist in running the Ribbon Blender and packaging AP-22 material.
6. Ensure proper relief at the start and end of shifts; complete paperwork for the units operated.
7. Fill bags according to Sling Bin Filling & Sampling procedures.
8. Take readings on the unit, monitor bags pulled and fed, ensuring no gaps on the feed end of the unit.
9. Work safely at all times; report unsafe conditions to the Shift Supervisor; wear PPE including safety glasses, steel toe boots, hardhat, and earplugs as required.
10. Troubleshoot issues in the work area and communicate downtime or problems to the Shift Supervisor.
11. Maintain excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
12. Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager and Production Department Head.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Manufacturing/Production experience preferred.
• Experience operating forklifts preferred.

Purpose

The Active Production Class B Operator is an entry-level position responsible for operating equipment and maintaining plant areas. Duties include operating activators, screens, crushers, tub bags, labeling bags, topping off product bags, forklift operations, and moving product bags to the warehouse. The operator will also handle screen changes during switch overs.
