Location Description

Northfield, Minn., hosts two manufacturing plants, Campbell Mill and Ames Mill, along with two distribution centers and over 750 team members. The Campbell Mill spans 1 million square feet and features seven manufacturing technologies for various cereal products. Northfield is rich in history, home to two colleges and the original Ames Mill where Malt-O-Meal started.

Responsibilities

This posting will be used to assign Warehouse Person positions on Weds-Sat, 5:00am-3:00pm, for the next 10 days. The role requires a two-year commitment. If changing departments, a post-offer work screen must be completed within seven days, including tests on lifting, turning, twisting, stretching, and visual recognition.

Internal application deadline: May 18th, 2025. Applications after this date will not be reviewed.

Job Activities/Duties
  • Safely and efficiently receive and ship orders accurately, damage-free, to internal and external customers.
  • Follow and document all food safety and quality assurance procedures.
  • Verify location, item, and count via WMS.
  • Handle exceptions appropriately to avoid rework.
  • Ensure product quality and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Build and optimize loads to minimize damage and facilitate unloading.
  • Insert/remove slip sheets, pallets, and dunnage as required.
  • Complete documentation accurately.
  • Pick and stack partial pallets by hand.
  • Stretch wrap pallets for shipment.
  • Inspect trailers and report findings via WMS.
  • Perform daily lift truck inspections and light maintenance.
  • Assist with light facility repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct QA inspections on returned packaging, ingredients, and finished goods.
  • Work across facilities as needed, including out-of-state travel.
  • Assist office staff, including supervisors, dispatchers, and data entry personnel.
  • Maintain attention to detail and accurate scanning.
  • Follow all WMS procedures.
  • Meet pallet labor-hour requirements.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors for PPA.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and training sessions.
  • Work safely according to company policies.
Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to operate a forklift and possess forklift certification.
  • Understand FIFO inventory methods.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English; able to understand shipping/receiving documents.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Flexibility to work pre-shift, post-shift, and off days.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Reliable, quick learner, and adaptable.
  • Always prioritize safety and efficiency.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Physical Requirements
  • Repetitive gripping, pinching, lifting (up to 60 lbs.), carrying, pushing, scanning, and pulling.
  • Repetitive twisting, bending, reaching.
  • Sustained trunk twisting.
  • Occasional climbing and walking.
  • Repetitive use of hands and feet on forklift controls.
  • Must pass warehouse prescreen.
