This labor-intensive position is responsible for hand-building pallets of product for bulk and route trucks. Each type of loading requires strict attention to order accuracy with respect to loading outgoing trucks and unloading incoming trucks. Employees work from electronic order systems or order sheets to build loads using a forklift and/or electronic pallet jack. The position ensures accuracy in loading and compliance with shipper/receiver documentation. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment is essential.

The role may require working in various weather conditions and hours, depending on workload, with shift durations varying daily. Responsibilities include loading trucks by moving full pallets onto trailers and removing returned pallets or flats, unloading raw materials into designated warehouse spaces, and selecting packages of products for loading onto pallets or into trucks, ensuring stability through proper stacking and shrink-wrapping.

This position involves high-volume lifting, typically 20-45 pounds per case, repeatedly during long shifts, requiring constant standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, and grasping.

PRIMARY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Drive power pallet jack or forklift to pick areas and build pallets/load according to load sheets or voice pick systems.
2. Mark load tickets for out-of-stock items.
3. Wrap pallets upon completion.
4. Verify paperwork before loading and have trucks checked.
5. Stage pallets and load into trucks when ready.
6. Complete partial pallets and organize mixed pallets.
7. Maintain proper housekeeping standards.
8. Ensure regular, reliable attendance.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be 18 years or older.

Helpful Experience:

• Warehouse environment experience (order picking, product staging, powered pallet jacks, forklifts).
• Forklift operation skills (driving, lifting, maneuvering in tight spaces).
• Experience with racking systems and loading/unloading pallets.
• Teamwork experience (cooperation, problem-solving).
