This labor-intensive position is responsible for hand building pallets of product for bulk and route trucks. Each type of loading requires strict attention to order accuracy with respect to loading outgoing trucks and unloading incoming trucks. Employees work from electronic order systems or order sheets to build loads using a forklift and/or electronic pallet jack. The position is responsible for accuracy in loading and complying with shipper/receiver documentation. Employees must maintain a clean and safe work environment. The role may require working in various weather conditions and hours, depending on workload.
Transport truck loading involves moving full pallets of products onto trailers and removing returned pallets/plastic flats. The role includes unloading raw materials into designated warehouse spaces, selecting products for bulk truck loading, and ensuring pallet stability through proper stacking and shrink-wrapping. Pallets are typically loaded onto trailers for local delivery. The position also involves unloading returned products and pallets/plastic flats.
Route truck loading involves selecting and loading specific packages or pallets based on sales orders. The employee is responsible for unloading returns. The role requires lifting cases weighing 20-45 pounds repeatedly, standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, and grasping throughout the shift.
