Job summary

Sysco Northeast RDC is seeking a warehouse associate to accurately pick products in our warehouse and prepare them for shipping. You will stack items for stability, maintain a clean and safe environment, and support daily operations during the evening shift.

Typical duties include reading orders, assembling pallets, labeling items, and operating an electric pallet jack. The role requires physical fitness, adherence to safety policies, and reliable attendance for up to 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• 0–1 year of relevant work experience.
• Frequent lifting of 10–75 lbs and up to 100 lbs.
• Frequent reaching up to 72 inches.
• Occasional bending/twisting when operating equipment.
• Work in coolers/freezers and on your feet 10–12 hours daily.

Responsibilities

• Read customer orders from the label screen and select product by slot and description.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets in the correct sequence.
• Attach labels to products.
• Operate an electric pallet jack to move pallets to the dock for staging.
• Handle products with care and report any damage to a supervisor.
• Perform daily equipment checks and participate in facility cleaning tasks as assigned.
• Sign in/out for all equipment used.
• Use basic communication to understand work systems and instructions.
• Adhere to GMP and SQF policies as described in Sysco training materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, the associate will accurately and efficiently select products in the warehouse. Prepare products for shipping by stacking in an orderly and stable configuration, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Read customer order from label screen and select product by slot and description.

• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets in the proper sequence.

• Attach labels on product.

• Properly operate an electric pallet jack (2-pallet length) to proceed to correct slot location, and transport product to dock area for staging.

• Handle products with the necessary care.

• Report any damage of merchandise, equipment or facility to a supervisor.

• Perform daily equipment checks.

• Assist in the clean-up of the facility and sign off on the daily cleaning area that the supervisor may assign.

• Sign in and out for all equipment when used.

• Use basic communication skills to understand work systems, instructions, etc.

• Adhere to all applicable GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), personal hygiene, and SQF (Safe Quality Food) policies and procedures as described in the European Imports – Sysco Food Safety Training Manual.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• 0 – 1 Year relevant work experience.

• Frequently lift product that weighs 10lb - 75lbs and up to 100lbs.

• Frequently reach up to 72 inches.

• Constantly bend and twist while operating an electric pallet jack or forklift, retrieving products from lower shelf areas.

• Work in very extreme temperatures (cooler and/or freezer).

• Work on your feet for 10 – 12 hours daily.

Preferred Requirements

• 1 year experience operating an electric pallet jack or forklift.

• 1 year of warehouse, military, or physically active job experience.

• 1 year Selection Experience.

• 2 years consistent work history preferred.
