What does it mean to be part of the Order Selection team?

In this fast-paced role, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently pulling customer orders within the warehouse. This involves strategic thinking and attention to detail while palletizing orders and ensuring they are placed in the correct locations. You will operate motorized equipment, including Electric Pallet Jacks, ensuring safety and accuracy in moving products within the warehouse. POSITION PURPOSE:

To have a thorough understanding of the equipment used, pick locations, pallet building, productivity measures, and safety procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

  • Inspect assigned equipment for safety issues
  • Enter accurate information into productivity measures
  • Identify correct pick locations and sequences according to the order
  • Pick the correct items and quantities, verifying UPCs or descriptions
  • Label cases with pick labels
  • Identify Master Case locations correctly
  • Report any mis-located products immediately
  • Shrink wrap and label pallets with correct truck, stop, and other info
  • Stage pallets in appropriate bays
  • Listen for calls and address out-of-stock items promptly
  • Maintain a clean work area free of debris
  • Report safety concerns to supervisors
  • Participate in aisle cleaning assignments
  • Operate pallet jacks safely and efficiently
  • Report policy violations
  • Build stable, well-cubed pallets
  • Park and recharge pallet jacks at shift end
  • Follow HACCP and SQF policies as applicable
  • Perform other duties as assigned

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS:

  • Complete functions according to company standards, including quality and safety
  • Maintain effective communication with personnel and management
  • Meet deadlines

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Knowledge:

  • Understanding of safety guidelines
  • Knowledge of Bakco functions and RF systems

Experience Required:

  • Warehouse/Operations experience preferred but not required
  • WMS knowledge preferred but not required
  • Good judgment and independence required

Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to meet established minimum picking rates
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to follow procedures and instructions
  • Understanding of warehouse processes for a comprehensive perspective
