Job summary

UNFI – NorCal Produce in West Sacramento is hiring for a warehouse associate to work in a climate-controlled facility. You will pick items, build pallets, ensure safety, and follow accurate picking sequences.

The role requires familiarity with pallet jack operations, ability to lift up to 100 lbs, and willingness to work Sundays and long shifts. Benefits include medical/dental/vision and 401K; basic training provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year warehouse experience preferred.
• Experience with electrical pallet jack, or similar.
• Ability to lift objects weighing 60–100 lbs consistently.
• Exposure to temperatures 30–35 degrees Fahrenheit in the warehouse.
• Good judgement when supervisor may not be immediately available.
• Occasionally pushing, sitting, reaching, climbing, pulling and gripping.

Responsibilities

• Inspects assigned jack for safety issues.
• Enters the proper information into the productivity measure.
• Identifies the correct pick location and pick sequence in accordance to the order.
• Pick the correct item and quantity, checking UPCs or item descriptions.
• Places pick labels on the side of the cases.
• Correctly identifies Master Case locations.
• Identifies and immediately reports miss-located products.
• Shrink wraps and labels with correct truck, stop and other required information.
• Stages pallets in appropriate bay.
• Keeps area clean and debris out of work area.
• Immediately informs a supervisor or manager of any potential safety threats.
• Obtains aisle-cleaning assignment.
• Operates pallet jack/pushcart in a safe and efficient manner.
• Reports to supervisor or leave any violation of company policy.
• Builds a stable and well cubed pallet.

Schedule:

• Sundays are mandatory! (Busiest day of the week)

• 2 days back-to-back off during the week with Saturdays always off

• 2PM start time – until work is done

• Fully climate-controlled warehouse – must be ok with chill environment (no freezer, just fridge around 35 degrees) nuts, fruits, veggies, fresh flower etc. are found at this distribution center

Job Overview:

Responsible for having a strong understanding of the equipment he/she uses, pick locations, pallet building, productivity measures and safety procedures.

Job requirements:

• Exposed to temperatures ranging from 30 – 35 degrees Fahrenheit

• Good judgement is required for this position as there may times when direct supervisor may not be immediately available

• Lifting objects weighing from less than 60lbs – 100 lbs. consistently

• Occasionally pushing, sitting, touching, reaching, climbing, pulling and gripping
