Job summary

Peddler's Son in Phoenix, AZ is hiring for a fast-paced warehouse order picker. You will fill customer orders, stage them for pickup, and ensure accuracy and timely delivery to the dock.

The role requires substantial physical effort, including lifting 50–75 pounds and enduring a refrigerated environment. The job demands attention to detail, ability to stand long periods, and reliable teamwork to meet productivity standards.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills and reading comprehension.
• Stand for long periods of time.
• Able to frequently lift 50-75 pounds.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Must be self-motivated, organized and have excellent communication skills.
• Must be able to lift 75lbs unassisted and deliver, load and unload 15 – 20 deliveries a day.
• Must be able to walk considerable distances in the facility during the course of his or her work?
• Must be able to lift and raise or lower objects from one level to another regularly during the shift?
• Must be able to Pull or Push exerting force up to a certain number of pounds on a regular basis so that the object is moved to or away from the employee?
• Must be able to carry on a regular basis, to carry objects in his or her arms or on the shoulder(s)?
• Must be able to grasp regularly picking up objects with fingers?
• Must be able to reach regularly; required to use the hands and arms to reach for objects?
• Stooping and Crouching required to bend forward by bending at the waist or by bending legs and spine
• Must be able to use color determination--the job requires color determination vision (no color blindness)?
• Speaking (typical for a salesperson) -- Does the job require expressing ideas by the spoken word?
• Must be able to listen; job requires the perception of speech or the nature of sounds in the air?
• Must be able to taste or smell; the job requires the ability to distinguish differences in quality of flavors and/or odors, using tongue and/or nose?

Responsibilities

• Locate and accurately pull orders in a timely fashion (minimum 130 p/h, 150 p/h average).
• Stage orders together on the dock.
• Load checked orders onto trucks (as needed).
• Pull shorted items when assigned to shorts (as needed).
• Ensure the accuracy of pulled product (double check quality and quantity).
• Follow truck loading and unloading procedures.
• Follow inventory procedures (First in first out).
• Clean and maintain the warehouse inside and out (This includes all coolers; pick up trash; sweeping floor and back dock area and empty trash as needed).
• Communicate with supervisors and warehouse department employees any issues related to performing duties.
• Find and communicate ways to improve and or increase productivity
• Maintain a safe work environment. Follow all HACCP, SQF and OSHA rules and regulations.

This is a fast paced, labor intensive position and attention to detail is a MUST.

This is a physical, fast-paced position that involves continual lifting, lowering, and sliding 25 to 50 lbs, in extreme refrigerated temperatures.

Warehouse order pickers are responsible for filling customer orders and delivering them to the loading dock in a manner that meets the company’s standards for productivity, efficiency, and responsibility. The order puller is responsible for the completeness and correctness of all orders filled. The order puller must be consistent, attentive to detail and informed about the products the company provides to be able to provide the customers exactly what they need and expect. They will select according to a pick ticket, inspect for quality and transfer this product to the dock

Must be able to endure a refrigerated warehouse environment with temperatures as low as 30 degrees, and capable of standing for long periods of time
