United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI) is seeking candidates for an Order Selection role in our warehouse. You will pull customer orders, palletize them, and place them in the correct locations while safely operating Electric Pallet Jacks and related equipment.

The job emphasizes teamwork, accuracy, and adherence to safety procedures. Starting pay is $22.95/hour with full-time benefits; Sunday shift differential and freezer premium apply, plus weekly pay and opportunities for raises and incentive

Qualifications

• Warehouse/Operations experience preferred but not required.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds continuously and work with high accuracy.
• Able to work in a temperature range from -10 to 90+ degrees Fahrenheit.
• Safety shoes with steel toes or composite toes on Day 1 of work.
• Good judgment when supervision is not readily available.

Responsibilities

• Identify correct pick locations and sequences for orders.
• Palletize items and ensure proper labeling and location accuracy.
• Operate pallet jack/push cart safely and efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness and report safety hazards to supervision.
• Stop and restart processes as needed to meet productivity goals.
• Re-charge pallet jack and return it to its designated spot at shift end.

What does it mean to be a part of the Order Selection team?

In this fast-paced role, you are the boots on the ground and responsible for accurately and efficiently pulling customer orders within the warehouse. This role requires strategic thinking and attention to detail while palletizing orders and ensuring they are placed in the correct assigned locations. You will operate motorized equipment including Electric Pallet Jacks while ensuring that you safely and accurately move product within the warehouse. POSITION PURPOSE:

Responsible for having a strong understanding of the equipment he/she uses, pick locations, pallet building, productivity measures and safety procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

• Inspects assigned jack for safety issues
• Enters the proper information into the productivity measure
• Identifies the correct pick location and pick sequence in accordance to the order
• Picks the correct item and quantity, checking UPC’s or item descriptions.
• Places pick labels on the side of the cases.
• Correctly identifies Master Case locations.
• Identifies and immediately reports miss-located products.
• Shrink wraps and labels with correct truck, stop and other required information.
• Stages pallets in appropriate bay.
• Listens for first and last call and obtains all out of stocks in a timely manner.
• Keeps area clean and debris out of work area.
• Immediately informs a foreman, supervisor or manager of any potential safety threats.
• Obtains aisle-cleaning assignment.
• Operates pallet jack/push cart in a safe and efficient manner.
• Reports to supervisor or lead any violation of company policy.
• Builds a stable and well cubed pallet.
• Parks and recharges pallet jack in its appropriate spot at the end of your shift.
• Perform duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location
• Other duties as assigned.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS:

• Selector functions are completed in accordance with Company standards and procedures including quality standards and safety regulations.
• Effective communication and coordination exist with Company personnel and with management. Assistance and support are provided as needed.
• Deadlines are met.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

• Understanding of Safety guidelines

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Warehouse/Operations preferred but not required
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds continuously as well as pick with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency
• Must be able to work in a range of temperatures from -10 to 90+ degrees Fahrenheit
• Must have safety shoes; steel toes or composite toes on Day 1 of work
• Good judgment is required for this position, as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Ability to select at an established minimum rate for department
• Astute, close attention to detail
• Understand and properly follow all selecting procedures and verbal instructions in your respective area: grocery, repack, cooler/freezer.
• Possess an understanding of procedures in other areas of the warehouse for a more global understanding of all processed
