Job summary

Apex International in Shakopee, MN is seeking a Warehouse Operator on 1st shift to receive, move, store, pick, and ship materials and to support inventory accuracy and efficient warehouse operations.

The role involves operating forklifts, following 5S standards, and using MRP/ERP and WMS systems. The position runs Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:00 PM, with starting pay of $20–$23 per hour and benefits.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of manufacturing, warehouse, or material handling experience is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Forklift certification is required and must be maintained.
• Basic understanding of receiving, shipping, storage, inventory, and distribution processes.
• Experience with cycle counting and inventory auditing is preferred.

We are currently seeking a Warehouse Operator, 1st shift, to join our team based in Shakopee, MN. This role works onsite at our Warehouse facility and is responsible for safely receiving, moving, storing, picking, and shipping materials while supporting inventory accuracy and efficient warehouse operations. The hours are Monday through Friday, from 6:00AM to 2:00PM.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Support Warehouse & Material Flow Operations

Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
Receive, move, store, pick, and distribute materials in an organized and accurate manner.
Process inventory transactions and material movements accurately within company systems.
Prepare and ship materials according to customer and production requirements.
Maintain organized inventory locations and warehouse storage practices.
Support efficient product flow to meet operational and customer demands.

Maintain Inventory Accuracy

Perform inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
Complete cycle counts for:

• "A" items quarterly
• "B" items semi-annually
• "C" items annually
  Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies as needed.
  Maintain accurate inventory documentation and transaction records.

Support Lean & Continuous Improvement

Apply Lean tools and support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the department.
Maintain and reinforce 5S standards (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
Follow established processes and identify opportunities to eliminate waste and improve efficiency.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Maintain Safety & Compliance

Operate forklifts and other motorized/non-motorized material handling equipment safely.
Follow all company safety procedures and warehouse operating standards.
Adapt to changing priorities and production demands in a fast-paced environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1-2 years of manufacturing, warehouse, or material handling experience required.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Forklift certification required; ability to maintain certification required.
Basic understanding of receiving, shipping, storage, inventory, and distribution processes.
Experience with cycle counting and inventory auditing practices preferred.
Basic math skills including counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division required.
Experience with MRP/ERP and WMS systems preferred.
Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to read, write, and follow specifications and work instructions in English.
Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately interpret alpha-numeric item numbers and packaging requirements.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Indoor manufacturing and warehouse environment with occasional exposure to fragrances at elevated levels.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, and repetitive hand/wrist movement.
Frequent lifting and moving of objects up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to operate material handling equipment safely.
Requires good vision, normal hearing, and fluency in English.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing business needs.

Work Schedule

Typically scheduled for 8-hour shifts; hours may vary based on customer and business needs.
Additional overtime hours may be required depending on production demands and staffing needs.
