Job summary

GEODIS is hiring for warehouse positions in Savannah, GA. The role involves reading schedules, preparing items for shipment, and loading products using appropriate equipment. You will sort and stage items and assemble orders for packing and shipping.

Experience with warehouse equipment and basic reading skills are required. GEODIS offers a safe work environment, flexible shifts, and opportunities for promotion.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED equivalency.
• 1–2 years of experience in a warehouse setting.
• Experience operating at least four warehouse equipment pieces.
• Exposure to Tier 1 or 2 warehouse management systems.
• Ability to read and understand simple instructions and memos.
• Able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to learn proper operation of warehouse equipment.

Responsibilities

• Read production schedules and orders to determine items to move, gather, and distribute.
• Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring correct quantity and type.
• Sort and place materials on racks or bins by size, type, color, or code.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and convey to packing/shipping.
• Load/unload/move/stack items using forklifts or other equipment.

What you will be doing:

• Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, and/or distributed
• Pulls and prepares product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code
• Assembles customer orders from stock, stage orders and/or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department according to OH or customer pick sheet
• Loads, unloads, moves, stacks and stages products and materials using a fork lift, pallet jack, clamp truck or other power equipment

Requirements:

• High school education or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency
• 1 to 2 years of experience and/or training in a warehouse environment
• Experience using minimum of 4 pieces of warehouse equipment
• Exposure to Tier 1 or 2 warehouse management system or comparable system
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to learn proper operations of warehouse equipment
