Job summary

Qualifications

  • Clean, inspect, and prepare railcars for loading sugar.

  • Assist in warehouse cleanliness and maintenance.

Summary of Responsibilities
  • Unload boxcars and trucks of bagged sugar and store them in the warehouse for delivery to meet the needs of various customers.
  • Clean, inspect, and prepare railcars and trucks for the loading of sugar to be shipped to various customers.
  • Prepare orders for transfer of sugar to bulk trucks to be shipped to various customers using gravity hoppers.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by following all the safety rules and procedures, including the effective use of all safety devices and equipment.
  • Communicate orally and in writing, read and understand oral and written policies, safety and environmental requirements, and other company policies.
  • Keep proper documentation on all orders and maintain proper inventory control procedures.
  • Ensure that all railcars and trucks are properly sealed, and all paperwork is accurately filled out and given to the clerk for keying into the system.
  • Assist in making sure all empty inbound railcars are properly released by cleaning, shutting doors, and removing deployed derailers.
  • Maintain AIB and/or SQF standards throughout the warehouse and storage facilities.
  • Assist in the maintenance, sanitation, and overall cleanliness of the warehouse and surrounding grounds.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • This position is subject to Drug and Alcohol workplace policies.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One to two years of forklift experience and/or training.
Specialized Training

  • Valid driver’s license and/or State Issued ID.
  • Site sponsored Forklift certification.
