Job summary

GEODIS is seeking a warehouse associate in Columbus, OH to read schedules, pull orders, and prepare shipments. You will handle stacking, loading, and moving products with equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks while following safety protocols.

Prior warehouse experience and the ability to lift 50 lbs are required. Exposure to a warehouse management system, basic reading skills, and willingness to work diverse shifts (including evenings/weekends) are essential to succeed in this role at

Qualifications

• Requires high school education or GED.
• 1–2 years of warehouse experience or training.
• Experience using at least 4 pieces of warehouse equipment.
• Exposure to a tier 1 or 2 warehouse management system or similar system.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short notes, and memos.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to learn proper operation of warehouse equipment.

Responsibilities

• Reads production schedules, orders, and requisitions to determine items to move or distribute.
• Pulls and prepares products for shipment, ensuring correct quantity and type.
• Sorts and places materials on racks or shelves according to size, type, or product code.
• Assembles customer orders from stock and conveys orders to packing/shipping.
• Loads, unloads, moves, stacks, and stages products using fork lift or pallet jack.

What you will be doing:

• Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, and/or distributed
• Pulls and prepares product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code
• Assembles customer orders from stock, stage orders and/or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department according to OH or customer pick sheet
• Loads, unloads, moves, stacks and stages products and materials using a fork lift, pallet jack, clamp truck or other power equipment

Requirements:

• High school education or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency
• 1 to 2 years of experience and/or training in a warehouse environment
• Experience using minimum of 4 pieces of warehouse equipment
• Exposure to Tier 1 or 2 warehouse management system or comparable system
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to learn proper operations of warehouse equipment
