Pay: $23.50/hr (+$1 per hour shift differential for night shift)

Job SUMMARY

Responsible for operating power equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, load, unload, pick, and count merchandise while holding accountability for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle. Responsible for storing incoming merchandise on racking systems, pulling products from the warehouse for shipment to fill customer orders, staging ingredients in kitchen drop locations, hooking up new totes, and delivering packaging material to drop locations on the production lines. Responsible for unloading bulk ingredient tankers into the ingredient silos in a safe manner. Basic computer skills. A positive attitude & pleasant personality; effective memory skills; good hand-eye coordination; dependability, ability to follow directions & a strong willingness to learn.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Builds, adjusts and secures pallets as required to ensure safe transportation.
  • Ability to pick products from warehouse racks in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and ability to read purchase orders and sales orders.
  • Utilizes a handheld scanning device or written document order to locate products in the warehouse to fill customer orders.
  • Ensure accurate inventory of goods; conveys completed orders to designated areas.
  • Initiates appropriate action when goods received are damaged or defective.
  • Verifies items pulled with appropriate documents to ensure accuracy and minimize errors.
  • Transports palletized merchandise from receiving to staging areas.
  • Transports palletized merchandise to freight trucks or appropriate loading docks.
  • Receiving and storing raw materials in designated locations.
  • Receiving raw ingredient tankers by site GMP (Good manufacturing practices), quality, and food defense standards, and safely unloading contents into bulk silos.
  • Moves and stores empty pallets in designated areas to keep aisles clear; stacks empty pallets in designated areas; sweeps designated aisles to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Take advantage of opportunity charging situations to ensure power equipment is fully operational.
  • Performs daily inspections of powered industrial trucks and submits daily inspection reports to management.
  • Mentors and influences new warehouse personnel to operate powered industrial trucks properly.
  • Operates powered industrial trucks according to manufacturer’s instructions and company safety rules.
  • Collaborating with all warehouse departments (Shipping, receiving, finished goods, and raw material intake) to ensure seamless operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following list that follows is representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and seek solutions.
  • Complete a background check and pre-employment drug screen.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment.
  • Forklift operation experience preferred (sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, depending on the role).
  • Knowledge of warehouse processes like receiving, stocking, picking, packing, and shipping.
  • Familiarity with inventory systems (RF scanners, WMS, or ERP software is a plus).

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret order reports. Normal verbal communication to respond to common inquiries by supervisors and/or other associates.
