Job summary

Synergy Flavors Innova, LLC in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Warehouse Associate to support order preparation, packing, loading, and inventory accuracy in a fast-paced food-ingredients environment.

You will verify shipments, operate pallet jack and forklift, follow safety rules, and ensure quality control. Starting salary is $21 per hour plus a $1,000 sign-on bonus, with Monday–Friday schedule.

Join a team based at our Operations Department, onsite, reporting to the Warehouse Manager.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and basic math skills; 3+ years in manufacturing preferred.
• Experience with bulk transfer operations or chemical manufacturing preferred.
• Forklift certification preferred; adherence to PPE and safety rules required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and verify customer orders for shipment.
• Check items against work orders for correct quantity and routing.
• Unload materials and compare packing slips with purchase orders for accuracy.
• Monitor unloading/loading of bulk resources and waste materials.
• Ensure safety, environmental, and quality requirements are met.
• Process packages using carrier software (UPS/FedEx).
• Inspect shipments for damages and notify supervisor of discrepancies.
• May be hazmat certified under DOT rules.
• Operate dolly, pallet jack, forklift and shrink-wrap equipment.
• Support inventory with cycle counts and reconciliation of discrepancies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepares customer orders for shipments.
• Checks items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct.
• Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment; may process return shipments from suppliers.
• Monitors all aspects of the unloading and loading of bulk resources, finished goods and waste materials.
• Ensure all safety, environmental, and quality requirements are met.
• Process packages via UPS Worldship and FedEx Ship Manager.
• Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor purchasing and quality control personnel.
• May be Department of Transportation’s Hazardous Materials Regulations (49CFR, Parts 171-180) Certified.
• May operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment; may operate shrink-wrap machine.
• Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
• Supports the inventory process by conducting regular cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and performing other inventory-related tasks to ensure accuracy and efficiency in stock management.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• High School Diploma or GED, documentation skills, math skills with at least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing ingredient plant preferred.
• Experience with bulk transfer operations and/or chemical manufacturing processes preferred.
• Experience with hazardous materials transportation preferred; applicable training and certification will be provided.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working in a GMP, Food Safety work environment with a complete understanding of warehouse activities.
• Strong focus on customer commitment.
• Excellent problem solving skills.
• Fork truck certification preferred.
• Must follow safety requirements and ensure the production team follows the PPE requirements (safety shoes, safety glasses, face shield and respirator).
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. repetitively.

Starting Salary

Starting Salary : $21.00/HR + $1000 Sign on Bonus! Monday - Friday 8a-4:30p

The actual compensation that you will be offered will depend on a variety of factors including geography, skills and abilities, education, experience and other relevant factors.
