This hands-on role involves loading and unloading trucks, tankers, and railcars; operating forklifts and other industrial equipment; repackaging and labeling materials; and maintaining precise inventory records. Engage. Empower.Job Description:General:* Receive/unload and prepare/load liquid and dry chemical products from/to trucks, tankers, and railcars. This work is physical and requires attention to detail as follows: + Maneuver and connect/disconnect transfer hoses + Climb up tanks, tankers and railcars to open/close top hatches and monitor load + Inspect tanks, tankers and railcars before and after loading/unloading operations + Verify product against receiving/shipping documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and damages + Product sampling and quality control in conjunction with lab personnel + Maintain accurate receiving/shipping logs. Record amounts of product received or distributed via appropriate computer program + Picking and staging product for delivery in accordance with specifications on customer orders or other instructions* Operation of powered and manual industrial lift trucks (with certification) to transport product in the warehouse, and maintain daily forklift checklist + Move raw materials to the production area and move finished products to the warehouse + Ability to lift and carry bags, pails, boxes, and pallets varying distances + Ability to stage and remove product packaging in complex storage racking within operating areas and warehouses * Repackage product into proper containers for storage or shipment. This work is physical and requires attention to detail: + Fill cylinders, drums, totes, pails or tankers with product and route to prescribed storage locations making sure of proper labelling, storing, stacking, or palletizing according to company and regulatory requirements + Give special attention to packaging, loading and storing of food grade and USP items. + Operate electronic scale and process devices + Carefully store hazardous waste drums in the prescribed area in full compliance with hazardous waste regulations * Responsibility for inventory + Examine stored product and report deterioration and damage + Rearrange stored materials + Assist in counting of physical inventory* General Maintenance + Ensure warehouse is clean, accessible and safe for all visitors and workers + When spills occur, responsible for immediate reporting and cleanup + Protect property from theft or damage* Other duties as assigned, including mixing and blending as requiredYour ProfileEducation and Experience:* High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or US military experience.* Candidates with prior experience in working with chemical operations (2+ years) may be considered if education or service requirements are not fully met.* Possess or able to pass exam to obtain Forklift Operators certification and demonstrate ability to operate a forklift safely.* Ability to read, comprehend and carry out detailed and simple instructions in English and write simple correspondence.* Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure* Ability to learn and operate technology-based devices such as smart phones, tablets, computers, PLCs, operational technology equipment, etc. to carry out normal business operations.* Meet or exceed production requirements based on information and or equipment used in the course of work performance* Wear safety equipment as prescribed by company* Comply with placarding rules when loading or unloading trucksOther Job Requirements:* Participate in ongoing safety program including safety meetings and trainings* Must be available to work any days of the week, any assigned 8-12 hour shift* Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed* Good safety and attendance record* Ability to work cooperatively with other departments and personnel* Observe, follow and enforce all company policies and procedures* Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check* Must pass E-verify check* Must be capable of attaining a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential) card for participating MTSA facilities within Brenntag.
