Your Role and ResponsibilitiesJob Summary:The Production Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently handling liquid and dry chemical products, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance throughout all warehouse and transfer operations. This hands-on role involves mixing and blending chemicals, loading and unloading trucks, tankers, and railcars; operating forklifts and other industrial equipment; repackaging and labeling materials; and maintaining precise inventory records. Empower.Job Description:General:Mixing/Blending/ManufacturingOperate and manage process equipment to produce blended, diluted, and manufactured final products in a safe and efficient manner.Ensure final product is on specification through process data and testing techniques.Ensure safe and efficient operations throughout the duration of the process via process monitoring and utilization of equipment (scrubbers, ventilation, bonding/grounding, etc.).Receive/unload and prepare/load liquid and dry chemical products from/to trucks, tankers, and railcars. This work is physical and requires attention to detail as follows:Maneuver and connect/disconnect transfer hosesClimb up tanks, tankers and railcars to open/close top hatches and monitor loadInspect tanks, tankers and railcars before and after loading/unloading operationsVerify product against receiving/shipping documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and damagesProduct sampling and quality control in conjunction with lab personnelMaintain accurate receiving/shipping logs. Record amounts of product received or distributed via appropriate computer programPicking and staging product for delivery in accordance with specifications on customer orders or other instructionsOperation of powered and manual industrial lift trucks (with certification) to transport product in the warehouse, and maintain daily forklift checklistMove raw materials to the production area and move finished products to the warehouseAbility to lift and carry bags, pails, boxes, and pallets varying distancesAbility to stage and remove product packaging in complex storage racking within operating areas and warehousesRepackage product into proper containers for storage or shipment. This work is physical and requires attention to detail:Fill cylinders, drums, totes, pails or tankers with product and route to prescribed storage locations making sure of proper labelling, storing, stacking, or palletizing according to company and regulatory requirementsGive special attention to packaging, loading and storing of food grade and USP items.Operate electronic scale and process devicesCarefully store hazardous waste drums in the prescribed area in full compliance with hazardous waste regulationsResponsibility for inventoryExamine stored product and report deterioration and damageRearrange stored materialsAssist in counting of physical inventoryGeneral MaintenanceEnsure warehouse is clean, accessible and safe for all visitors and workersWhen spills occur, responsible for immediate reporting and cleanupProtect property from theft or damageOther duties as assigned, including general warehouse duties as requiredYour ProfileEducation and Experience:High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or US military experience. Candidates with prior experience in working with chemical operations (2+ years) may be considered if education or service requirements are not fully met.Possess or able to pass exam to obtain Forklift Operators certification and demonstrate ability to operate a forklift safely.Ability to read, comprehend and carry out detailed and simple instructions in English and write simple correspondence.Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measureAbility to learn and operate technology-based devices such as smart phones, tablets, computers, PLCs, operational technology equipment, etc. to carry out normal business operations.Meet or exceed production requirements based on information and or equipment used in the course of work performanceWear safety equipment as prescribed by companyComply with placarding rules when loading or unloading trucksOther Job Requirements:Participate in ongoing safety program including safety meetings and trainingsMust be available to work any days of the week, any assigned 8-12 hour shiftWillingness to work overtime or weekends as neededGood safety and attendance recordAbility to work cooperatively with other departments and personnelObserve, follow and enforce all company policies and proceduresMust pass pre-employment drug screen and background checkMust pass E-verify checkMust be capable of attaining a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential) card for participating MTSA facilities within Brenntag.
