Job summary

General Motors is seeking a General Supervisor to lead daily warehouse operations and drive safe, reliable, and on-time customer shipments on a defined shift. You will direct salaried and hourly staff, set expectations, remove barriers, and partner with site leadership and labor relations to deliver performance in a fast-paced processing-center environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• 5+ years' experience leading warehouse, distribution, logistics, material-handling, manufacturing, or processing-center operations.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse execution, inventory control, shipping and receiving, material flow, and customer-service requirements.
• Ability to work effectively with union representatives and cross-functional business partners.
• Ability to work a nonstandard schedule, including assigned shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, or schedule changes as business needs require.
• Ability to use standard business and operational systems to review performance, document actions, and communicate results.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily warehouse operations for the assigned shift, aligning staffing, material flow, equipment, and priorities with business needs.
• Coach and develop salaried and hourly employees; set expectations and address performance concerns.
• Maintain safety culture by enforcing rules, supporting ergonomics and housekeeping, and addressing hazards.
• Monitor productivity, quality, inventory accuracy, shipment performance; communicate gaps and implement countermeasures.
• Ensure customer shipments are accurate, complete, and delivered on schedule.
• Collaborate with union reps, site leadership, and cross-functional partners to administer policies and procedures.
