Position Overview

nVntori is seeking an experienced, hands-on Warehouse Operations Supervisor - Day Shift to lead daily warehouse operations within our fast-paced 3PL environment.

This is an operations leadership position, not a desk-only supervisory role.

The successful candidate will be highly visible on the warehouse floor, directing employees, managing workflow, maintaining safety and quality standards, and ensuring customer requirements are executed accurately and on time.

The Warehouse Operations Supervisor is accountable for safety, people, productivity, quality, and execution throughout the day shift.

Key Responsibilities
Operations Leadership
  • Direct and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including receiving, put-away, picking, staging, loading, unloading, and shipping.
  • Conduct a daily shift startup meeting to communicate priorities, workload, safety expectations, and customer requirements.
  • Assign employees and equipment based on daily operational demands.
  • Continuously monitor workflow and adjust labor to prevent bottlenecks and missed deadlines.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the warehouse floor throughout the Shift.
  • Coordinate dock-door activity and ensure trailers and freight are properly staged.
  • Work closely with transportation, inventory control, customer service, and management to maintain seamless operations.
  • Ensure proper shift handoff and communication of outstanding operational issues.
  • Lead, coach, train, and develop warehouse associates and team leads.
  • Establish clear expectations for attendance, productivity, safety, quality, and professional conduct.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide immediate coaching when standards are not being met.
  • Help identify high-performing employees for additional responsibility and advancement.
  • Address attendance, performance, and conduct issues consistently and professionally.
  • Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, urgency, and respect.
Safety & Compliance
  • Make safety the first priority in every warehouse activity.
  • Enforce all nVntori safety policies, SOPs, and customer requirements.
  • Ensure proper trailer securement and wheel-chock procedures are followed without exception.
  • Monitor safe forklift and material-handling-equipment operation.
  • Conduct routine warehouse and dock safety inspections.
  • Immediately report and document accidents, injuries, property damage, product damage, and near misses.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and obstruction-free work areas.
  • Stop any operation immediately when an unsafe condition exists.
Productivity & Performance
  • Monitor daily productivity against established operational standards.
  • Track labor utilization, throughput, loading/unloading performance, and operational delays.
  • Identify inefficient processes and recommend improvements.
  • Minimize overtime through effective planning and labor management.
  • Ensure equipment and employees are deployed efficiently throughout the Shift.
  • Escalate operational problems before they affect customers or service commitments.
Quality & Inventory Accuracy
  • Ensure inbound and outbound freight is handled accurately and according to customer requirements.
  • Maintain proper product identification, labeling, scanning, staging, and location control.
  • Investigate shipping, receiving, inventory, and damage discrepancies.
  • Work with Inventory Control to maintain accurate inventory and WMS records.
  • Ensure damaged or questionable product is properly identified, segregated, and reported.
  • Maintain high standards for housekeeping and warehouse organization.
Customer Service
  • Understand the operational requirements of multiple 3PL customers.
  • Ensure customer-specific SOPs and service-level expectations are consistently followed.
  • Respond quickly to priority shipments, special projects, rework, and changing customer requirements.
  • Communicate operational problems promptly and professionally to management.
  • Treat every customer's product as if it were our own.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of warehouse or distribution experience, preferably within a 3PL environment.
  • 2+ years of warehouse leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience supervising warehouse associates, forklift operators, loaders, and/or team leads.
  • Strong understanding of receiving, shipping, staging, inventory control, and dock operations.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and RF scanning technology.
  • Ability to manage multiple customers and changing priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to hold employees accountable while maintaining a professional and respectful working environment.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse safety practices and OSHA requirements.
  • Forklift experience is strongly preferred.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and other business systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or logistics training is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work primarily in an active warehouse environment.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to work around forklifts, trucks, trailers, loading docks, and material-handling equipment.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds when necessary.

Schedule
Day Shift - Full-Time
