Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Warehouse Operations Supervisor who will be responsible for ensuring efficient and effective warehouse processes within the forklift department. This leadership role requires strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to manage a team to meet productivity and safety goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the day-to-day operations of the forklift department
- Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations within the warehouse
- Coordinate and optimize warehouse processes to meet operational goals and improve efficiency
- Provide training, guidance, and support to team members to enhance their skills and maintain high levels of performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, ensuring minimal disruption to daily workflow
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., procurement, logistics) to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of orders
- Implement and enforce warehouse best practices to improve quality, reduce waste, and enhance safety
- Prepare reports and metrics related to forklift performance, highlighting areas for improvement
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of warehouse equipment and machinery
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse operations, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control processes
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage a team, provide clear direction, and motivate employees
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and meet deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of WMS software is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree or relevant certifications preferred
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and work in physically demanding conditions
- Forklift certification (preferred)
