Job summary

Cardinal Health in Indianapolis is seeking a Warehouse Operations Specialist to train and lead warehouse staff in safety, quality control, and day-to-day tasks such as receiving, picking, packing, and shipping.

The role focuses on efficient product flow from receipt to shipment, with responsibilities including on-the-job coaching, inventory cycles, and documentation using standard software. 3rd shift, 40 hours weekly, with holiday flexibility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 1-2 years related pharmaceutical warehousing experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to manage weight up to 75 pounds.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Willing to obtain DOT (Department of Transportation) and IATA (International Air Transport Association) certification within 3 months of hire.
  • Forklift experience preferred – willing to obtain PIT authorization within 3 months of hire.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the training of new warehouse employees on daily operations, safety elements and equipment.
  • Shadows new employees to assess performance and provide on-the-job guidance as needed.
  • Completes daily warehouse responsibilities such as receiving or picking materials.
  • Prepares shipping documents using FedEx or other software.
  • Performs surveys and wipe testing to determine the Transport Index (TI) for outbound product shipments.
  • Participates in inventory cycle counting and performs inventory transactions in corporate computer program.
  • Reports errors in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Takes initiative and is accountable for areas of responsibility meeting regulatory requirements including but not limited to maintaining required trainings.
  • Demonstrates basic material handling, packaging, and warehouse equipment skills.
  • May perform other job duties as assigned.

What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health

Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers.

Job Summary

The Specialist, Warehouse Operations trains new and experienced Warehouse Operations Associates on safety and quality control procedures as well as equipment and standard tasks for everyday assignments. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers. The Specialist leads trainings for new hires and assesses early performance for proficiency and problem areas.

Schedule
  • 40 hours per week
  • 3rd shift
  • Thursday - Monday 11pm - 7:30am
  • Candidate must be flexible to work holidays, weekends, and different shifts if needed by business needs.
