Job summary

Forbo Movement Systems in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Clerk to safely and efficiently process orders, verify shipments, and support daily logistics operations.

Responsibilities include packing belts and accessories, labeling with the Pitney-Bowes machine, routing shipments, loading and unloading, and ensuring accuracy against purchase orders. A high school diploma and basic computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Experience in shipping/receiving is helpful.
• Basic data entry and computer skills are expected.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently ship orders to customers as specified on the order form and verify incoming shipments.
• Pack belts and accessories to prevent damage during shipment.
• Operate Pitney-Bowes machine to produce postage and labels.
• Apply correct labels and arrange shipments with carriers (UPS, FedEx, etc.).
• Load/unload outgoing and incoming shipments and verify quantities against POs.

• Safely and efficiently ensure the prompt and correct shipping of orders to customers as specified on order form and verify incoming shipments of items purchased.
• The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to:
• Properly packing belts, accessory items or other materials to ensure they are not damaged during shipment.
• Operating Pitney-Bowes machine to produce accurate shipping label and determining appropriate postage or shipping charges.
• Applying correct labels to appropriate boxes and making necessary arrangements to ship items according to customer's request on order form (i.e. UPS, Air or Federal Express, etc.).
• Loading and/or unloading outgoing and incoming shipments as necessary.
• Verifying incoming shipments to ensure quantities and types of materials received agree to purchase orders.

Working Conditions:

Position requires, but it not limited to the following demands/factors:

Physical:

• Occasional to frequent lifting of up to 75 lbs.
• Continuous standing and walking
• Frequent handling, pulling and pushing using medium force
• Occasional stooping, crouching, reaching, and twisting
• Occasional light pressure use of hand-arm and leg-foot controls to operate machinery and equipment
• Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less to be able to accurately read printed forms
• Hear and speak clearly and distinctly to understand and verbally communicate with co-workers and others
• Works around and/or with cutting tools, forklifts, and other machinery which could cause cuts, abrasions, bruises, burns or fractures to hands or other body parts
• Possible exposure to chemical odors/vapors
• May be exposed to inclement weather (heat, cold, rain, etc.)

Position Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous shipping/receiving or related experience helpful, including knowledge of proper shipping of hazardous materials and international shipments
• Knowledge of basic computer operations for data input
