Job summary

Harbor Logistics LLC is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee daily warehouse activities, lead supervisors and associates, and drive safety, quality, and productivity across the site in line with Harbor Logistics Core Values.

The role requires coordinating labor and workflow, resolving issues, and partnering with inventory, transportation, safety, HR, and customer service teams to ensure smooth handoffs and successful operations.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics or related field preferred.
• Several years of warehouse or distribution experience, including supervising a team.
• Plan labor and daily workflows; manage performance in a fast-paced operation.
• Knowledge of warehouse safety, inventory controls, service standards, and metrics.
• Experience with warehouse or labor management systems preferred (WMS).
• Lean or continuous improvement tools preferred; Six Sigma not required.
• Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and reporting tools; ability to interpret data.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, inventory movement, order fulfillment, and shipping.
• Set shift priorities, assign work, and adjust staffing to meet volumes and deadlines.
• Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and hourly associates; provide feedback and build teamwork.
• Reinforce safe work practices and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
• Monitor KPIs such as safety, quality, throughput, and on-time performance; implement improvements.
• Review workload, capacity, and labor data; recommend changes to improve flow and cost control.
• Support Lean practices and lead improvements within the operation.
• Communicate operational status and improvement plans to site leadership and customers.
• Collaborate with inventory, transportation, safety, HR, and customer service teams.
