Job summary

Scott Electric Company in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Full-Time Warehouse Assistant Manager to supervise daily warehouse operations, coordinate order pulling, shipping, and safety programs.

You will lead a team, ensure accurate inventory and shipping, liaise with inbound/outbound freight carriers, and support central purchasing, merchandising, sales, and finance to keep merchandise moving efficiently.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years previous experience as a warehouse supervisor or in similar management positions
• Regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations and management
• Time management skills and the ability to delegate
• Excellent leadership and organizational skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry software
• Ability to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

Responsibilities

• Assigns workers to accurately pull all customers’ orders and ship in specified timeframe
• Administers company safety programs to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all employees
• Communicates with inbound and outbound freight companies
• Assists in managing the fleet of trucks and drivers
• Assists in establishing operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of merchandise, and the accurate keeping of warehouse inventory
• Coordinate’s activities of the warehouse with activities of central purchasing, merchandising, sales, and finance departments to ensure availability of merchandise and proper execution of administrative transactions
• Communicate information to Operations Manager, Warehouse Manager, and/or Warehouse Supervisor in a timely manner to expedite merchandise receipt, shipping, and special handling
• Directs reclamation of damaged merchandise
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
• Training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems
