Job description

Pay Rate: $20/hour
Schedule: 9:00 AM-5:30 PM

Duration: 1-year contract

Position Overview

The Warehouse Operator supports daily shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, and inventory activities. Responsibilities include accurately picking and packing customer orders, verifying product information, preparing shipments, receiving incoming materials, and maintaining an organized and safe work environment.

Candidates must have previous picking and packing experience and be comfortable working in a physically demanding environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Pick customer orders accurately from designated stock locations.
• Verify product details, catalogue numbers, lot numbers, quantities, unit sizes, weights, and special instructions against order documentation.
• Pack products according to established procedures and applicable hazardous materials regulations.
• Apply required shipping labels and markings to packages.
• Stage completed orders in designated areas for shipment.
• Select appropriate equipment based on order size and weight.
• Receive incoming products and unpack shipments for storage.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure products are stored in the correct locations.
• Use SAP or similar inventory management systems to track, order, receive, and store materials.
• Perform shelf maintenance and verify inventory accuracy.
• Operate RF scanners, pallet jacks, picking carts, packing equipment, and appropriate cutting tools.
• Use computers and printers to complete shipping and receiving tasks.
• Keep workstations, stock areas, and packing materials clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow all established procedures and safety requirements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• Previous picking and packing experience is required.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic computer skills, including the ability to use printers and enter information into inventory systems.
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks and RF scanners.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and remain on your feet for extended periods, including throughout an eight-hour workday.
• Ability to walk, bend, kneel, twist, crouch, reach, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to lift and move packages weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance when required.
• Ability to handle packing materials and operate warehouse equipment safely.
• Adequate vision to read labels, identify products, verify order information, and operate computer equipment.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
