Role Overview

The Oddball Picker is responsible for selecting wine, beer, and spirits, preparing items for shipment according to order labels, and operating electric pallet jacks and cherry pickers. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean and safe environment, meeting productivity goals, and following company policies to ensure safety and security. Specific duties will vary by workstation.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Six months of warehouse experience preferred
  • Six months of operating an electric pallet jack required
  • Experience operating a cherry picker, forklift, and power equipment preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Label boxes in wave sequence
  • Identify product descriptions and item numbers quickly and accurately
  • Pick oddball pallets in wave sequence using company equipment
  • Ensure loads are properly stacked, secured, and stable
  • Report low inventory to the Warehouse Area Manager
  • Operate conveyor lines safely and shut down in emergencies
  • Maintain inventory records for control, rotation, and security
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently
  • Report safety or mechanical issues promptly
  • Keep the facility clean, organized, and safe
  • Assist in other zones and maintain warehouse security
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Working Conditions

  • Work at heights with safety harnesses when operating cherry pickers or power equipment
  • Work in non-temperature controlled environments with heat, humidity, and weather exposure
  • Occasional work in refrigerated areas
  • Moderate to loud noise levels, dust, and fumes from equipment

Physical Requirements

  • Regular attendance required
  • Operate pallet jacks and forklifts frequently
  • Stand, walk, reach, lift (up to 65 lbs), and perform overhead lifting
  • Vision abilities include close and distance vision, and distance judgment
