Warehouse/Material Inventory Control Tech

Role Overview

This position manages daily setup, transportation, and inventory control of materials for railcar repairs, including proper identification, sorting, loading/unloading, and transport to various locations.

Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all CFRS safety procedures.
  • Understand the logistics of the railroad and repair industries.
  • Maintain a clean and compliant work environment.
  • Follow instructions accurately and work effectively in a team.
  • Inspect and verify delivered materials, complete sign-off paperwork, and log all materials.
  • Organize and distribute materials based on work orders, drawings, and instructions.
  • Operate equipment such as lift trucks and cranes safely.
  • Lead daily warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
  • Perform physical inventories and manage material supplies.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Knowledge of computer applications like Microsoft Office and Oracle.
  • Basic understanding of QA materials.
  • Willingness to participate in training programs.
Skills
  • Effective reading, analyzing, and interpreting skills in English.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Reasoning ability to follow instructions and solve problems.
Physical & Working Conditions

Requires standing, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs, with work performed indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions and environments involving heavy equipment and noise.
