Job summary

Abbott in Minnetonka, MN is seeking a Materials Handler supervisor in the Cardiac Rhythm Management division. Based at the Minnetonka facility, you will oversee receipt, storage, and movement of materials and support production through timely team leadership and problem solving.

Reporting to management, you’ll assign manpower, monitor inventory accuracy, and guide staff development while ensuring adherence to policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Minimum 2 years experience in materials handling, inventory control, warehousing and cycle counting.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee the receipt, storage, and movement of materials throughout the facility.
• Determine and direct manpower to meet site needs and minimize overtime.
• Assist Material Handlers in performing their tasks.
• Assists in completion of projects and achievement of departmental goals.
• Ensures that customer needs are met.
• Promotes department goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable staff.
• Leads the activities of assigned staff towards achieving department objectives.
• Schedules human and material resources to ensure availability within budget.

Main Purpose of the Role

This position works out of our Minnetonka, MN location in the Cardiac Rhythm Management division.

As a global leader in Cardiac Rhythm Technologies, we focus on innovative technologies that can improve the way doctors treat people with heart arrhythmias, or irregular heartbeats. With general guidance from functional management, responsible for providing team leadership to a group of employees responsible for activities related to the receipt, storage, and movement of materials throughout the facility. Supports the needs of production. Identifies and analyzes problems, plans tasks and solutions. Provides guidance to team on development, performance & productivity issues. Strives to increase quality and productivity. Reports to functional and/or organization management on team accomplishments, achievements & productivity.

Main Responsibilities

• Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
• Direct and oversee activities related to the receipt, storage, and movement of materials throughout the facility.
• Determine and direct manpower to meet site needs and minimize overtime.
• Assists Material Handlers in performing their tasks.
• Assists in completion of projects and achievement of departmental goals.
• Ensures that customer needs are met.
• (Influence/Leadership) Promotes department goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable staff.
• Leads the activities of assigned staff by communicating and providing guidance towards achieving department objectives.;
• (Planning/Organization) Schedules human and material resources within a department or section in conjunction with near‑term plans to ensure their availability; carries out operations within an established budget.;
• (Decision Making/Impact) Assignments are expressed in the form of tasks; generally makes day‑to‑day decisions within established policies, procedures and guidelines in order to carry out the operations and processes selected at higher levels; consequences of erroneous decisions or recommendations might include delays in program schedules and result in the allocation of more resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree (± 16 years) or An equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Minimum 2 years experience in materials handling, inventory control, warehousing and cycle counting.

The base pay for this position is

$61,300.00 – $122,700.00
