Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Material Handler to manage the safe movement of materials in the warehouse, including receiving, storing, and distributing, with accurate inventory records. The role involves operating forklifts and pallet jacks, performing cycle counts, and ensuring strict safety adherence on site and outdoors.

Responsibilities include inspecting incoming materials, loading/unloading trucks, and preparing items for shipping to customer sites, with potential overtime or weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in a warehouse or distribution center
• Ability to operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming materials for the production floor
• Store materials in designated locations
• Pick and pack materials for shipment
• Load and unload trucks using material handling equipment
• Maintain accurate inventory records
• Perform cycle counts and physical inventories
• Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines
• Teardown of equipment
• Be working outside for extended period of time
• Cleaning and crating of material and prepare for shipping to customer site
