Job summary

Aerotek in Carlsbad, CA is seeking a Material Handler to support shipping, receiving, storage, and order fulfillment for finished goods and materials. The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and adherence to procedures while moving products through the warehouse.

You will operate powered industrial trucks and pallet jacks, use RF scanners and ERP systems, and coordinate with internal teams to meet customer timelines and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of material handling or warehouse experience.
• Ability to operate powered industrial trucks and pallet jacks at various heights.
• Basic computer skills and ERP navigation.
• Ability to follow policies, procedures and schedules.
• Good communication and customer service with internal personnel.
• Ability to work in room temperature, cold-room and freezer-room environments.
• Lift up to 50 lbs; push/pull up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work varying shifts and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, store, and process items for storage and shipment according to procedures and customer requirements.
• Ensure customers receive correct product in the requested quantity and time frame.
• Receive materials and finished goods daily; verify against packing lists.
• Document and process incoming/outgoing shipments using ERP systems.
• Safely operate distribution equipment including PITs and pallet jacks.
• Use RF scanners and shipping software to track inventory and orders.
• Work in warehouse environments with varying temperatures.
• Follow site distribution standards and complete required training.
• Understand team metrics and support performance improvements.
• Report deviations from procedures that affect quality or schedules.
• Maintain strong attendance and punctuality.
• Communicate clearly with internal teams to support smooth operations.
• Perform highly repetitive tasks with accuracy, quality, and safety.
• Handle packaged hazardous materials per safety guidelines.
• Participate in training to develop equipment/process knowledge.
• Adapt to varying shifts and overtime with advance notice.
• Support inventory control activities by counting, stocking, and organizing materials.
