Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Material Handler in the Indianapolis area to support a large manufacturing operation. You will move, track, and prepare products using material-handling equipment in a high-volume warehouse and production environment.

This role requires operating forklifts, pallet jacks, tuggers, and RF scanners, with overtime and potential weekend shifts. Training is provided and safety is a priority in this fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Experience operating forklifts or tugger equipment in a warehouse/manufacturing setting.
• Background as an order picker or similar material-handling role.
• Ability to use RF scanners to track inventory and pick orders.
• Proficiency with material-handling equipment including pallet jacks, tuggers, and sit-down forklifts.
• Comfort with high-volume warehouse work and repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Proven ability to pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently.
• Stable work history with 1+ year per job in prior roles.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures for weighing products and documenting batch numbers.
• Willingness to work in hot, dirty, oily departments and perform overtime.

Responsibilities

• Pull, pick, and pack boxes up to 50 lbs; ~1,000 boxes per shift.
• Operate electric and manual pallet jacks and tuggers to move materials.
• Occasionally run a sit-down forklift for palletized goods.
• Push carts with 72 containers per cart; maintain safety and productivity.
• Use RF scanners to track inventory and document movements.
• Weigh products and packaging per customer specs and internal standards.
• Document materials, batch numbers, and related data per guidelines.
• Meet daily production and material-handling targets in a fast-paced setting.
• Follow safety procedures when operating forklifts and other equipment.
• Participate in structured training; apply learned skills on the job.
• Support overtime with extended hours and some Saturdays with notice.
• Keep work area clean and organized in hot, dirty, oily department.
