Description
The Warehouse Material Handler is responsible for organizing, receiving incoming deliveries, managing stock, and maintaining the safety and cleanliness of the warehouse. This role ensures the availability of materials to support field crews and the project schedule.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of meters, tools, uniforms, and safety equipment.
- Assign meters and materials to installation technicians for daily work.
- Enter data for incoming and outgoing meters.
- Research and respond to all meter/AMI-related inquiries.
- Maintain the warehouse facility.
- Research lost meters.
- Categorize inventory and track it.
- Order meters and project supplies timely.
- Review purchase orders and shipping arrangements as necessary.
- Manage warehouse staff and material handlers.
- Ensure OSHA and safety guideline compliance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs throughout the day.
- Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
- Knowledge of warehouse and inventory management.
- Experience with Smartsheet is preferred.
- Supervision or logistics experience is preferred.
- Must be 18 or older.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Forklift certification or CDL is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in the electric and/or gas utility industry is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of driving experience with minimal violations.
Physical Requirements
- Rare (<10%): stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, crawling, climbing, gripping, balancing.
- Occasional (up to 33%): standing, sitting, touch, manual dexterity, vision, reaching, lifting over 10 lbs up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent (up to 66%): walking.
- Continuous (up to 100%): speaking, reading, hearing.
