Job summary

Westin in Fairbury, NE is seeking a full-time Receiving/Materials Associate for our WPM Main Plant. Responsibilities include operating forklifts, inspecting equipment, loading/unloading materials, and maintaining clean, safe work areas. The role requires CDL and strict adherence to GMPs, LOTO, and food safety policies.

Qualifications

• Operates forklift and pallet jack with safety awareness.
• Adheres to GMPs and Food Safety policies at all times.
• Maintains safe, clean, organized work areas daily.
• Regularly attends LEAN meetings and participates in stretches.
• Reports unsafe conditions immediately and follows LOTO procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure receiving equipment is in proper working order.
• Inspect forklift/pallet jack daily and report issues.
• Keep work areas clean and report hazards.
• Supply plant with meat and haul finished products.
• Unload loads of bacon and move products to designated areas.
• Transport dry cure/blend and Topper products as needed.
• Wrap pallets and organize Warehouse #1 stacks.
• Clean and sweep Topper building and Terminal building.
• Load/unload items outdoors and on uneven surfaces.
• Verify driver identity for outbound trucks; seal loads and document seals.

Position Overview

• Ensure receiving equipment is in proper working order
• Ensure daily forklift/pallet jack inspections are complete
• Keep all work areas clean from debris and report any damage or unsafe conditions
• Supply plant with meat
• Haul finished product out of the plant
• Unload loads of bacon
• Haul dry cure/blend out of plant if needed
• Load in/out Topper product
• Clean, sweep, organize Topper building
• Haul caustic soda to the plant
• Haul inedible product out of plant
• Wrap pallets
• Clean and sweep Terminal building
• Sweep, organize and unload product in Warehouse #1
• Wash outside forklifts on a weekly basis
• Remove trash from all facilities
• Inventory Warehouse #1 monthly
• Inventory dry blend monthly
• Inventory seeds monthly
• Supply plant with raw materials daily
• Load inedible combos onto trailer
• Complete 7 point inspection of any outbound truck
• Verify identity of driver of any outbound truck with photo ID
• Seal outbound loads and verify seal number on bill of lading

QualificationsRequirements

• Forklift experience preferred
• CDL Required
• Have a positive and professional attitude
• Follow GMPs at all times
• Maintain a safe work environment and follow safety policies
• Notify management immediately of any unsafe situations
• Follow all Food Safety Policies
• Must always follow LOTO (Lock Out/Tag Out) program
• Participate in daily LEAN meeting and stretches
• Regular attendance is required
• Prompt, on time reporting to work stations is required
• Strength Factor Level 5-Exert in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, an/or in excess of 20 pounds constantly.
• Ability to walk outdoors in all conditions between buildings
• Ability to walk on uneven surfaces, ramps and stairs
• Ability to safely walk on slick surfaces due to working conditions or weather conditions
