Job Description

This role is for a 2nd or 3rd shift manager within the facility. Weekends are required.

Position is STI eligible based on achieving specific KPI's.

The Manager provides operational direction and leadership to all associates supporting the Stop & Shop supply chain requirements. In this capacity, he or she:

  1. Assist in maintaining full P&L responsibilities for the designated distribution center.
  2. Encourages and enables personal and professional growth of DC management and hourly associates;
  3. Helps set the strategic vision and direction for distribution center operations and seeks ways to improve business processes, operational disciplines, overall efficiency, and store service;
  4. Leads an environment and culture of high safety and sanitation standards.

The Manager works directly with the Warehouse Lead Director, Warehouse Director, and Vice President of Distribution to identify and manage infrastructure and business process changes within the supply chain organization, including new stores, new products, schedule changes, facility upgrades and expansions, and alternative supply chain methodologies.

Essential Skills:

Primary accountability for specific functions and results. The list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented or changed as necessary.

  1. Maintains P&L responsibility for the designated Distribution Center;
  2. Develops, modifies, and/or enhances distribution center business processes to optimize store service and cost;
  3. Ensures facility compliance with Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations, responding promptly to government requests and maintaining organized records. Keeps sanitation and safety at the forefront;
  4. Leads the personal and professional development of management and hourly associates, ensuring ongoing training and growth opportunities;
  5. Works directly with senior management to identify, initiate, and coordinate strategic system and process changes within the supply chain;
  6. Maintains high operating results by using KPIs as benchmarks;
  7. Establishes a culture of open communication, teamwork, and mutual respect, promoting high performance and customer service without compromising integrity;
  8. Coordinates with various departments to align with sales plans, system upgrades, and financial reporting, and responds to merchandising needs;
  9. Supports modeling and pilot efforts within the company to enhance supply chain programs, working with managers to implement new systems and operational changes;
  10. Communicates effectively at all levels of the company.
